The HU
The Hu is a Mongolian rock band formed in Ulaanbaatar in 2016. Blending traditional Mongolian instrumentation—such as the morin khuur (horsehead fiddle) and tovshuur (Mongolian guitar)—with throat singing (khoomei) and heavy metal, the group self-describes their unique style as "Hunnu Rock." They broke into the global spotlight in 2018 with their viral hit singles "Yuve Yuve Yu" and "Wolf Totem," followed by their acclaimed 2019 debut album, The Giverug.
